End shaft race should be matched to a new bearing whenever replaced. Follow Eaton RoadRanger specifications and procedures when installing. K-2183 factory shim kit should be used to set proper endplay.
 
Correct practice is to match tapered roller bearings to their counterpart race set for life, with both manufactuer and age exactness, many have not done this, with undocumented success. If you can not remove the transmission to overhaul, as required to get to the endshaft bearing, it has been suggested to use the cheapest race you can find, in hopes that it is softer in composition and not an added expense.
